Hey, Heidi, I really really like the color you picked - of the African violet and you do seem to know quite well how to propogate them! Great. Mind you, from the time you first cut the leaf, place it in water until it roots, then carefully plant it in nice rich potting soil and wait to see mini/baby African leaves grow from the one major by now GIANT looking leaf, about 8 months will have passed! And - get thi - from one leaf you will harvest 4 to 5 brand new African violet plants!! These need to be carefully separated when they are big enough to re-pot. So, that is why your dear Mother had so many plants! From: who else but your dear Mother who only has 1 plant at this time, but hmmm, maybe in August you could bring a leaf??? Not sure it would get through customs. Love from Mom XXOO
heidi, I think its amzing all the similar things btw your mom and mine. did you know my mom grew african violets also??? chocolate fans, library women, I think God is pretty cool how hes brought these two families with so much in common together!
Heidi, You made me laugh so hard with your story of the african violet. I got your link off of my sister's blog. Thank you for cheering up my afternoon. Love, Julene (Indonesia)
