ewwwww

i was happily reading blogs until i heard my husband call me. i followed him out to the shed behind our house where he pushed aside an old dart board to reveal a squirming heap of baby mice. gross, gross, gross. i asked josh what he was going to do with them. he said "squish them." did i say GROSS yet? funny how he found these today because last night, getting ready for bed, josh kept hearing rat/mouse-like noises coming from behind the dresser. he looked under and behind it with a flashlight, then we took out every article of clothing and checked the drawers. nothing. i think we may have both been a little spooked because of the horror stories mike & sara and brandon & zandra were telling us the other night about mice and rats where they used to live. i wish oliver was bigger and meaner.

oh my goodness, it JUST started raining! (for those of you who live in abbotsford and are thinking, "so?", this is an unusual occurance in ramona) i am full of white paint right now, as i spent a good part of the day painting sara's house with zandra and sue (sara's mom) and of course, the Painting Nazi herself. absolutely NO rolling sideways, ONLY up and down and Heaven Forbid you get paint on her ceiling! and mercy for the pregnant girl wearing a mask who felt a little dizzy? unthinkable! in all honesty it was quite fun and the Painting Nazi wasn't so bad. lucky for her she makes good coffee ;) love you, sara.

today is the birthday of 2 very special girls in my life. first of all: Sarah Mae. today my little canadian niece turns 1 year old! josh and i received the most adorable invitation to her birthday party which, regrettably, we will be unable to attend, but it has already been given prime position on our refrigerator. we got to meet her for the first (and only) time around 11 months ago when we made a trip up to canada. it has been amazing to get to see her grow up through pictures & through video footage that andy and cara captured last christmas. sarah, we love you and hope that one day soon you'll be able to visit and get to know us a little better.

the other very special birthday girl is Jessica. i will never forget the first day she called me on the phone. i had yet to meet her, but had heard so much about "sis" from josh, that i felt i knew her already! from our first conversation i just knew that i would have no problem getting along with her. she is the kind of person that you always feel comfortable around. she is very honest and will just tell you like it is. i like that. jessica, thank you for welcoming me into your family and making me feel so at home. i love you and am thankful to God that you are my sister.

You should have brought the mice over to feed to Brandon's snakes!!! Ha ha! Thats pretty crazy!

Yes, the Painting Nazi stuck it to us pretty good, but I love Sara anyways also!

And Happy Birthday to Jessica! Would you believe after all this time I still remember her birthday? She truely is an awesome person and I miss talking to her and hanging out all the time like "the good 'ol days"!

Heidi
I hate mice. When we lived out near the desert (our first 4 yrs of marriage) we had a huge mice problem. Praise the Lord....I never saw a rat!!
What were you painting????
