may

after going through my long list of blog-reading, only to discover that most haven't been updated since yesterday (what in the WORLD is wrong with you people?) i have decided that i should stop being such a hypocrite and update my own blog.

may is my favourite month of the whole year. it's finally warm enough to wear flip flops and shorts, yet still cool enough that you're not sick and tired of the heat yet. i always wanted a may wedding, and it looked for a long time as if i'd have to settle for a july one. that is until early in april of 2004 when my fiance called me up with an alternative plan to the waiting game we were playing with immigration. so i got my may wedding after all, barefoot on a beach no less. that was 2 years ago, and time has flown. i can honestly say that the last 2 years have been the best years of my life.

josh was supposed to be playing a golf tournament on our anniversary and i was invited to zandra's baby shower that day. we both ditched those other plans and spent an entire delicious day together. church in the morning, frozen california pizza kitchen pizzas for lunch (i adore their bbq chicken pizza) then, we went and saw the da vinci code which was interesting and maddening all at once. then we drove to rancho bernardo and sat down to the meal that we've been waiting for all year. it was absolutely lovely (although my filet mignon was a little well done this time, much to my disappointment) we kept stuffing lobster into our mouths until we thought we'd burst and just when we were done that, we stuffed creme brulee down as well, causing us to basically lay down in our seats for the drive home. i was still full the next morning and couldn't eat breakfast!

weeks are speeding by and pretty soon we'll be having visitors staying at our house! my mom and i are already planning a trip to abbotsford next summer (with josh this time) since it's been 3 years since i've been there in summer and i miss how green it is and the hot dog roasts and cultus lake and my dad's grape vines in the backyard and driving up to whistler for the day or taking the ferry to the island (which josh has yet to experience) or eating my mom's roll kuchen and watermelon out on the deck. okay, just a wee bit homesick this morning.

i think i'm going to whip up a giant batch of chocolate chip cookies with my fancy mixer now.

It's not nice to talk about "whipping up chocolate chip cookies" unless you intend on sharing them with all of your blogger friends..................
Glad to hear you had a wonderful Anniversary. They only get better as the years go by.

Heidi ~

Congrats on two years. It's so great that you did get your May wedding. It by far is the best month for a wedding.
Wishing you joy and laughter in this next year with your hubby.

yes, you should update every day too. :O)

A trip home would be lovely. Splash around cultus lake extra for me.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Heidi and Josh! You know I'll never forget the date cuz Joy and Ryan were married on the same date--on a different beach--in Victoria. It was lovely. Love reading your blogs. Bless you guys. Love Aunt Deo
