surprise!

no, the surprise is not that tristan is already here (though darla thought it would be funny to not blog until he arrived and then post that as the surprise) the surprise is that i had a dr. appointment yesterday and found out that i am 2.5 cm dilated and 75% effaced. also, my mucous plug has taken a permanent leave of absence. so.....he really could come any day! since i'm only 36 weeks along, my doctor was a little concerned that he'll show up this week, at which time his respitory system may still be under developed. so i am under strict instructions not to overdo it.. no long walks, no vaccuuming, no sex, no three legged races.. which totally makes sense to me, but at the same time, i feel so unprepared! i mean, i've been focusing on getting ready for christmas and was planning on getting ready for tristan AFTER christmas. my priorities have changed drastically and last night was a whirlwind of activity, as the car seat was installed in the car, the hospital bag was packed, and 3 loads of little tiny clothing was laundered. i even snuck outside while josh was on the phone and vaccuumed out my car. thankfully, my husband knows me well and he is aware that when there are things to be done i CANNOT fathom sitting still. so we went out and got me a few dvd's that i HAVE to watch just so that i'll sit down for part of the day. and honestly, i am being good. i mean, blogging requires sitting and that's what i'm doing!

still, this is all still quite shocking for us, that there's a good chance we'll have baby's first christmas this year instead of next! i had all kinds of scary unprepared dreams last night and finally just got up at 2am and read all about labor and breastfeeding for 2 hours. kinda felt like i was cramming for an exam! so if you could, would you please pray that he stays inside for AT LEAST one more week. after that, we're good to go! i'll keep you all posted.

We will be praying for Tristan! the best thing to do is to sit as much as possible, God's plan is always the best plan. We were scared the whole pregnancy with Kolby and God was good to us. He will be to u too. If there is anything you need please let me know. I have lots of time, LOL!

That's so exciting you guys!! You should tell Tristan that Thursday, December 21 is a great day to arrive into this world!! I arrived 23 years ago this coming week! :o) Its a great birthdate to have! :o) And I'd be more than happy to share it with him. But seriously, I can't believe it could be any day now...what a wonderful Christmas present for you and Josh!! Enjoy your final days/week(s) of being pregnant! :o)

man, that totally sucks about the three legged races.

It also means that if Tristan is born early and perfectly healthy, you are one of the luckiest woman alive.

SLEEEEP. Stop laying awake all night going "hmmm, maybe tonight I'll have this baby." ;)

I'm so excited but take it from a girl who has all her babies early. Relax now while you have the chance I'm sure he'll be just fine even if he does decide he wants to come into this world a little early.

Heidi:
Thou shalt not pick up anything heavier than a toothbrush until after Tristan is born, lest I come and beatest your husband to a pulp for allowing you to do ANY house work whatsoever this month, let alone for objecting to your music choice as you cleaned the house, and for talking on the phone when your car need vacuuming.

I'm warning you Josh. Don't make me come out there and unpack a Texas sized load of whoopheiney on you. Kiss Heidi's feet, NOW, and thank her repeatedly for carrying that big old bull calf son of yours for this long.

I'll be praying for all three of you. Oh, and Bernie will be looking forward to whooping you regardless on the golf course, just for the fun of it ;-)

Brandon's birthday is the 21st as well (which I think you remember), and Sara's mom's too, it is quite a great day...But, at the same time we want to make sure that little Tristan comes out fully baked, right? Unless he's like a cookie, which turn out better a little underdone...okay now I'm getting off track and making myself hungry and probably you too, my little pregnant lady...

My son was born at 36-6 A bit early so had pretty bad jaundice but otherwise healthy! Of course we were totally unprepared - the whole first week he was home we were running to Walmart for things we didn't have yet! I hope he stays put for a while yet - of course now that they said you'll be early - you'll go late ;-)
